PUBLIC DATA ACCOUNTABILITY

See what we know. See what we do not.

Every public layer has a source, steward, review schedule, method, limitation, and correction path.

WHERE THE INFORMATION COMES FROM

A public watchlist, not a mystery feed.

The platform now names the places it must keep checking across urgent needs, government power, young people, schools, work, money, housing, wellness, mobility, rights, events, neighborhoods, wealth, and the environment.

How to understand this data

Method: ACS 2024 five-year tract estimates joined to official TIGERweb tract geography.

What it cannot tell us: Estimates describe areas, not individuals. Household income is not wealth and does not show assets or debt.

How to understand this data

Method: Official station coordinates are paired with the current MFD firehouse directory for addresses, battalions, apparatus, special teams, and housed divisions.

What it cannot tell us: A marker shows a facility and what MFD lists as housed there. It does not promise a walk-in service, identify the responding company, or estimate response time. Call 911 for an emergency.

Review schedule: Monthly and after MFD facility or unit changes

How to understand this data

Method: Official MPD station GIS points are paired with district maps and the current department contact directory.

What it cannot tell us: Stations are not live officer locations, and the nearest building is not always the district serving an address. Call 911 for emergencies or 414-933-4444 for Milwaukee police non-emergencies.

Review schedule: Monthly and after district or contact changes

How to understand this data

Method: Direct founder and investor pages are checked for stage, geography, application path, current activity, and source authority. SEC filings and public-program records support accountability.

What it cannot tell us: An investor directory is not a promise of funding. Check current thesis, stage, eligibility, terms, deadlines, and whether a firm is actively deploying capital before relying on a listing.

Review schedule: Weekly for applications and programs, monthly for firm strategy

How to understand this data

Method: Each source has a stable owner, direct link, authority type, audience, geography, priority, access format, and monitoring cadence.

HOW ACCOUNTABILITY WORKS

Nothing becomes “verified” just because it was collected.

  1. 1CollectKeep the original source, date, geography, and record ID.
  2. 2CheckConfirm dates, links, duplicates, coverage, and known limits.
  3. 3PublishShow its trust level, steward, last check, and next review.
  4. 4CorrectKeep the report, decision, evidence, and resolution in the audit trail.
